Happy New Year!

Well I'm long overdue for an update and the first day of a new year feels like the right time.

  • I'm loving kindergarten! It's definitely an adjustment and has stretched me in a lot of ways but all for the better. We have so much fun! My blog title and header are all misleading. I'll be working on that. They did such a great job practicing and putting on a Christmas program for their parents and friends. So sweet!

  •  The holidays were great with my family. I've spent a lot of time off of school for both Thanksgiving and Christmas at my parents house. It's good for Sadie to have plenty of room to play and it's good for me to have plenty of home cooked meals.

  • We celebrated my dad's 50th birthday in December. A lot of family came over and we had some great Mexican food.

  • We took a little family trip to Abilene to see my aunt, uncle and cousin. Tessa is four and is so much fun right now! She tells these animated stories like an adult and loves to sing and dance. We shopped, ate out, opened gifts and hung out together. Good times!
  • Last night I was a total nerdy old lady in terms of new year celebration and when it rained all evening and into the night I was glad. I was also glad I was with people I love and ate way too much of my dad's yummy fish. My aunt and I made ornaments out of our Christmas cards and I was home and in bed by 10:00 with my computer reading blogs and asleep shortly after midnight.

  • I'm kind of in a strange place with this new year. I hope to buy a house this year and am looking online at listings daily. I am in my apartment lease until the first of June. I don't want to miss a great deal on a house that I love but don't want to pay a lot of extra money to leave my apartment early. I would also like to keep saving money and have as much as possible in savings before I jump into this. All of that to say it's going to be a delicate balance to figure it all out. As far as goals or resolutions go, I don't know if I have any specifics. I feel like I work all the time to be a better Christ follower, a better teacher, daughter, sister, and friend, be healthier, and be a good steward of my finances. I'm excited to see how all of those things come together in 2013!
  • Happy New Year to you and yours!
